A winery is also its history. That is why we like to remember its beginnings, at the end of the 19th century, when great- grandfather Sebastiano made a small amount of wine. In 1970, grandfather Giacinto bought the land and winery where his great-grandfather worked. In this way Farasin began to grow, with the passion of father Armando and mother Maria. After more than 100 years, in the same lands, Mattia together with his wife Martina, carries on the family dream, personally following all the steps that make Farasin wines come to life, from the vineyard to the bottle.

THE LAND
The Euganean Hills: a history born 40 million years ago.
We are talking about a unique mountainous area, with hills with conical peaks and rounded slopes, an area naturally suited for vine cultivation. This is where Farasin wines were born: sun-kissed and good by nature.
Over thousands of years, the various volcanic eruptions have caused the soil to ripen in very different areas. We find the presence of trachyte (zovonite) volcanic rock, sedimentary rocks, such as biancone (limestone and rich in minerals), scaglia rossa (brick-coloured marine rock) and marna (clayey rock).
This particular and articulated composition of the terroir transmits minerality and flavour to our wines. Our work is one of total commitment. We follow the entire production chain with passion: from the vineyard to direct sales. In this way we guarantee only the best: from the vineyard to the bottle.

THE WINERY
How to become a Farasin wine
Our winery is as authentic as the people who work there. It is a real place, where Mattia now passes on his father Armando’s great experience in winemaking.
With all our own vineyards, great care for the land and meticulous expertise in winemaking, we follow every step of the production chain directly at our winery.
Vinification, sparkling and bottling are done in-house at Cantina Farasin.
In particular, sparkling wine-making, which is often outsourced, is an art that we have learned and refined over time.
We produce many varieties of bulk wines and 10 different varieties of bottled wines.
